NikenPeeps was born out of obsession.
I’ve spent years researching the Yamaha Niken GT—watching hundreds of videos, reading every review, sitting on one in a showroom, keeping tabs on UK dealers. All this despite not actually owning one yet.
Financial constraints. Living in Japan. Life circumstances. The usual reasons dreams stay dreams.
But the obsession had to go somewhere, so I built this site. A resource for Niken enthusiasts. A place to keep the dream alive. A community for people who appreciate Yamaha’s weird, wonderful, discontinued three-wheeler.
This site is not affiliated with Yamaha Motor. Just a guy who really, really wants this bike.
Why the Niken?
I’m a returning rider. Years away from motorcycles. When I get back on two wheels (or three), I want something different. Something that represents a fresh start, not a nostalgic return to what I rode in my twenties.

The Niken fits that perfectly. It’s unconventional. Polarizing. Discontinued right after Yamaha perfected it in 2023.

“Peeps”
In casual English, peeps means people, fellows, friends.
More About This Site
It’s a work in progress.
If you’d like to help build or improve it, let me know. I’m figuring this out as I go.
“Aren’t You Late to the Niken Party?”
The bike’s discontinued. Yamaha stopped making them in 2024. Most Niken content is years old.
So yeah, I’m late.
But this isn’t about SEO or jumping on trends. It’s about getting back into motorcycles, celebrating something different, and starting a new chapter—even if that chapter begins after the party’s over.
About Me
I’m Grant, OldDogZeroTricks. British guy living in Japan. English teacher and vegetable farmer (long story). Former rider who’s been off bikes for years.
I’ve owned a few bikes in my twenties back in the UK: Suzuki GS125 ES, Kawasaki GPZ 550, Kawasaki GPX 750. Now I’m older, maybe wiser, definitely more patient.
If circumstances shift and I move back to the UK to help my Dad, a used Niken GT is top of the list. Until then, I research, I write, and I keep the dream alive.
When I’m not thinking about bikes, I’m writing about life and aging over at OldDogZeroTricks.com.
Thanks for being here.
